SGI xterm goodness
SGI developed the perfect color combination for a terminal window years ago. Alex Leigh was nice enough to share it with the internet in 2003. And more importantly, archive.org remembered it even after Alex’s site was wiped from the face of the internet so I could find it this morning.
Well it took most of the morning, but I got the old SGI xterm/console font converted to a TrueType format that is at least compatable with OSX.
For those of you looking for the true oldschool IRIX experience, set your terminal text to RGB 215,214,210 and your background color to RGB 0,0,64. This was the original color configuration for the Indigio Magic desktop terminals, to the best of my recollection.
The original text color might have been pure white, if so I probably dimmed it down in my own configuration. If you use transparency both colors need to be a little brighter.
The font in question is mirrored over here.
