• Charles: If I dig from my front yard, I end up somewhere in the middle of the ocean
• Slack: I know
• Slack: which begs the question... if you dig a hole, and dig it right (insulated from magma and so forth, what happens to the ocean?
• Slack: would it drain to the center of the earth and stop, or, would the weight of the remaining ocean on the surface be sufficient to push it through the earth? Could we end up with a water filled tunnel through the earth? Could your front yard become beachfront? How will this effect property values? local tourism? Michigan could be the third and fourth coast. the coffee place would have to change its name
