Typically, when things at work are going poorly, or just not my way, I try to think about things rationally. Weigh the pros and cons of different actions, and think of long term consequences (e.g. will this come back in 6–12 months and become my problem). All this can take a lot of time and take me away from my other work. So I have a new plan.
